UNDP in partnership with GSSCPD and Harvard Business Publishing delivered a uniquely tailored leadership training program for Kuwait's high-level public officialsMar 20, 2017
UNDP has partnered with GSSCPD and Harvard Business Publishing – an entity wholly owned by Harvard Business School – to deliver a uniquely tailored leadership training program that addresses the needs and priorities of Kuwait's development endeavors. Through this program, 50 of Kuwait's high-level public officials will be trained on contemporary leadership techniques which promote operational excellence, improved communication and evidence-based decision-making in line with Kuwait Vision 2035.
This training represents yet another positive collaboration between UNDP and GSSCPD to develop the capacities of the public sector to ensure effective implementation of the Kuwait National Development Plan, and Kuwait Vision 2035. This also marks the first collaboration with Harvard Business Publishing, an entity with a rich set of global expertise, that developed a program to address the priorities and needs of Kuwait.
In her opening speech, the UN Resident Coordinator and the UNDP Resident Representative Ms. Zineb Touimi- Benjelloun, acknowledged the commitment of the senior leadership for their continuous development in what best serves the country and the national development process. She congratulated Her Excellency Minister Hind Subeah Barak Al-Subeah for her continuous support and leadership as well as Dr. Khaled Mahdi and the colleagues at GSSCPD for their invaluable partnership and support.
The training is the first step of a broader leadership development program spanning over a period of 3 to 4 months. It will focus on a variety of key issues that have been identified in a rigorous needs assessment process. These issues include evidence-based decision-making, accountability and effective communication.
