UNDP sign the Project “Developing and Piloting of a National Performance Management Framework” with State Audit Bureau and the GS-SCPD

Kuwait City, KUWAIT - United Nations Development Programme signed on Monday morning the contract to support the Kuwaiti State Audit Bureau, "The Development and piloting of a National Performance Management Framework Project" in collaboration with the international consultant Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) to prepare an integrated guide for corporate governance in different sectors in the presence of Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development Dr. Khalid Al-Mahdi and Audit Bureau acting Deputy Abdul Aziz Al Houli and the resident Coordinator of the United Nations and resident representative of the UN Development Programme Zineb Touimi-Benjelloun and the representative of the international consultant Camille Haddad.

 

The signing of the project contract was between PWC company, UN Development Programme, General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development and State Audit Bureau, to support them in the implementation of the development of key indicators to measure performance and development indicators of the sectors of health, education and oil as pilots, with the next step stipulating the rollout to all sectors of the Government.

 

This was announced by the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations and Resident Representative of the UN Development Programme Zineb Touimi-Benjelloun after signing the contract for the project in the wake of the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the signing of the contract with the Chairman of the Audit Bureau, Adel Al- Sarawi, stressing that the signing of the contract to implement this project comes from the implementation of the Country Program Document (CPD) for cooperation between the Government of the State of Kuwait and the United Nations development Programme through which has been consolidating the bonds of cooperation between the various official bodies in the country and the Secretariat of the Supreme Council for planning and development and the United Nations development Programme as strategic partners to accelerate development in the State of Kuwait.

 

Dr. Mahdi hoped to reap the fruits of this cooperation and its results, which will increase the effectiveness of the State Audit Bureau in the supervision and control of the various performance aspects of government agencies in the state and improve governance, which helps to develop the potential of government agencies in parallel with the National Development Plan of the State of Kuwait as well as develop the skills and abilities of SAB staff.

 

The Audit Bureau's acting Deputy Abdul Aziz Al Houli valued the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development and UN Development Programme project commitment to the project, calling it ambitious and pioneering within the region, also, expressing his willingness to provide the implementing company with all the data and information that will help in guaranteeing facilitated and streamlined operation of the project.

 

The representative of PWC, Camille Haddad,  said "the company will bear a vast role in this project in cooperation with all parties involved, especially the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, noting that this project is very strategic and is a step towards the establishment of the foundations for measuring the strategic planning and maturation of transparency in government institutions as well as the development of systems and frameworks that will enable the Audit Bureau to succeed in measuring and monitoring the performance of various government agencies" promising to undertake unremitting efforts to guarantee the success of the project.
