What we do
5th of December, 2021 is the International Day for Volunteerism! Kuwait is well known for the spirit of volunteerism. In fact, during COVID-19, 4000 national volunteers were mobilized to support people and families in need, including underemployed migrant workers. During the pandemic, needs were expressed by managers and NGO leaders for the need of training manual for volunteers. In support of this, UN Volunteers supported training sessions. In addition, “the Volunteer Handbook Manual” has been developed jointly with UNDP GSSCPD and MOSA. The manual aims to help individuals, community groups, non-profits, and charitable organizations with the tools for orientation and ongoing volunteer engagement. The manual includes best practices to adapt to the Kuwaiti context. The handbook includes the policies and procedures with practical examples.
