Creative Human Capital: Key to social empowerment and competitive employability
In addressing human development priority issues on the country’s development agenda, UNDP has been working on several priority projects with its national partners. UNDP supports the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (GSSCPD) with the production of the country’s National Human Development Report (HDR) for 2016. UNDP collaborates with the Ministry of Youth, the Public Authority for Youth and the Public Authority for Sports in creating an enabling environment for the increased engagement and empowerment of Kuwaiti youth. On women related projects, UNDP is partnering with Kuwait University’s Women Research Center and UN Women to support the nationalization of SDG5, focusing on women’s political, economic and social empowerment. Together with the Public Authority for Disability (PADA), UNDP provides policy and technical advice and supports PADA in the establishment of an enabling and inclusive environment for the disabled in Kuwait. Recognizing the important role of the civil society in advancing social and economic development of human capital, UNDP is partnering with Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) to assist with the building of capacity of civil society organizations on national development and localization of Agenda 2030.
