Sustainable Development

Sustaining development and building capacities

The long-standing partnership between UNDP and the Government of Kuwait has achieved significant results over the years as the demand for UNDP’s technical assistance continues to grow.  At the request of key ministries and public authorities, UNDP helps shoulder the government’s efforts to achieve the country’s ambitious aspirations for sustainable socio-economic development. The country’s archetypal development framework is embedded in its Kuwait Vision for 2035 that is reflected in the country’s 7 Pillared national development plan as well as in Kuwait’s commitment to achieve the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Overall, UNDP serves four focus areas: socio- economic and environmental development, human development, governance and Strategic, multilateral partnerships. UNDP Kuwait operates in line with the current UNDP Country Program Document (CPD) and the Country Program Action Plan (CPAP) for the State of Kuwait covers the 2015-2018 period. Both documents are fully aligned with the Kuwait for Vision 2035 and the Kuwait National Development Plan (KNDP).
